Village Road Hardening

PT Odira Energy Persada (PT Odira) as part of the community members has significantly endeavored to bridge the communications among the people on transparent and sincere basis to establish the constructive partnership with various interested parties and to work hand in hand with the local community members.

Cooperation with the people aims to establish synergy between the company and people to actualize the social care and company contribution toward the social development and environment.

Village Kedung Jaya, sub district of Babelan, district of Bekasi, is the village where the "BBWM-Odira" LPG refinery exists, and almost 85% of the village road is in very poor condition specially when the rainy season is approaching and it really hinders the economics and other social-economics activities in that village.

The construction of village road was initiated by the Village Government and through their suggestion on behalf of the community members of the Kedung Jaya village that encourage all people to cooperate in the village road construction program in Kedung Jaya village. The Village Government plans to carry out the village road construction through road hardening in 12 routes in the area of Kedung Jaya village. The Village Government plans to perform the road hardening construction using the budget obtained from the Bekasi district government through the ABPDes fund and some other road construction shall be contributed by the companies located in the area of Kedung Jaya village.

Based on the mapping issues and community needs, such a call for road village construction partnership program is considered significantly by the company simply because the village road in the Kedung Jaya village plays important role in the strategic value and its long term purpose will bring positive impact on the productivity growth and enhancement of the social economics activity that will promote the economic activity and the local people will learn to become more self reliance through their own potency. Besides, the clean and hygienic environment will ultimately contribute the people healthy condition and improve the access for their daily business activity.

PT Odira in partnership with PT Bina Bangun Wibawa Mukti (PT BBWM), a Bekasi district government owned enterprise, partner of PT Odira in constructing the "BBWM-Odira" LPG refinery and using of earth gas from the Tambun site belong to Pertamina. In May 2008 those two companies contribute through their participation in the village road construction program in Kedung Jaya village.

This corporate social responsibility (CSR) is provided to assist the people specially those living in Dusun I and Dusun II of Kedung Jaya village through the road hardening in gang H. Idris road (area of Dusun II) along 250 meters and 1,5 meter width and gang Amin Samin road (area of Dusun III) along 250 meters and 2 meter width. The road construction and casting is carried out by the development committee formed by the village government of Kedung Jaya in partnership with the local people.
